Rep. Massa: on Stimulus Money
On October 10, 2009 at 10:00pm, Representative Eric Massa decided to announce in Centerway Sqaure Corning that he was running for Congress. We decided to go and see what he had to say. After his comments about not wanting to represent the interests of his districts, we’re not sure what to make of the announcement. I guess this means he wants to continue being a representative that doesn’t represent our interests.
The first video had to do with the stimulus spending. The arguments were a clear dig at an opponent who called for Rep. Massa to stop spending Stimulus money. First problem is a factual one: that the stimulus was a loan and not as Rep. Massa says, “your tax dollars.” Second, problem is a really in the purpose of the stimulus and the cost. Rep. Massa stated that he’s given $100s of millions to his district. All for what? How many jobs have been created so far? So far there’s only been 3.5 jobs in all of the 10 Twin Tiers counties.
The peak of it all is a view that the money is his money. This money is not our money, but our children’s money. And Rep. Massa is clear that he’s not going to give it back.
